A ten-yard dumpster should be big enough for most jobs, but if your home is larger or for a commercial building, you will need at least a twenty-yard dumpster. You should also have someone to assist you because it is more than a one-person job. When you have your tools gathered, you need to start the project from underneath the gutters. First, remove the heavy down sprouts by unscrewing them from the gutters and drain system. The pry bar will be required to remove them. Next, disconnect the old gutters from the hangers. Be sure your ladder is placed in a secure position while removing the downspouts, then remove the gutter one piece at a time from the brackets.
